Inspirational images 1

Here are some images from pinterest I find inspirational:

Image1: Game play images from a game called Reaper. I like the visual style and level design, which inspires me to add this sort of level set up in my own games.

Image2: Concept art and after it's been applied to a mobile game. This is inspirational for character development from concept art to a character being applied to the actual game scene.

Image3: An informative image on educational games. I find this an inspiration in the benefits and even concerns of developing games for education, which I could apply to my own games.

Image4: Demonstrates the game Roller Rally's progression from concept to level design. I find the level design really nice and is unique compared to other 2D games.

Image5: An image of character concept art. This shows various actions the character can perform in game. I find it a really effective way to plan out the actions and the number of animations required which in this case is a lot.

Conceptual skill brainstorm

Conceptual skills that I really need to focus on is something I've lacked skills in for a long time:

*Digital Painting: I've been very dependent on hand drawing on paper and sometimes digital. These images have stayed in black and white and I rarely color anything in digital. Unfortunately game design require elements to be painted in with color, so I need to develop these skills if I want to start making high quality games.

*Perfecting anatomy: While I can draw, I need to develop my skills in drawing the human anatomy correctly. This will not only help out on developing game characters but also my animation skills. It will also get me out of my comfort zone of only focusing on quadrupeds and flying creatures instead of bipeds like humans.

Pinterest board link

Here is the link to my pinterest board I pinned a few inspiration images in. These are all from different artists and mainly focus on game design: http://www.pinterest.com/yaoilove/games/
I'll most likely find a lot more on here as game design or just games in general is pretty popular and a lot is usually concept art or just screen shots from a game.

This image is very inspiration and actually goes into detail on getting employment in game design. A very educational work and ones I recommend checking out.

Inspirational links.

I got shown this nice source from a friend: http://www.godotengine.org/wp/
It's a pretty snazzy game engine that can do both 2D and 3D games, which look very nice. It's currently in Beta but I still wouldn't mind giving it a go in the near future. Next post will be from Pinterest which I've found some inspiration from.

Inspiration

Okay since I want to get into game creation I figured finding particular games that inspire would appropriate to post here.
For inspiration, I found the game "Dust an Elysian tail" to be a great source. I could not find an image from Pinterest, so I Google it instead.

I've searched on pinterest for inspiration images and found few which I'll post up in my next post.

Intro

This blog is connected to the Textual blog, so there will be similar subject matter between both. The subject matter is in regards to what my future goal will be and the steps I'll take to get me there. Yes I actually did the whole copy paste method from the other blog to this one. Very lazy yet time saving! Okay the conceptual matter will focus on inspirations like images. For this I'll be using Pinterest, a site I never knew about until today.
